Rubber, a Film About A Killer Tire?!

Ah, where to begin? Last year Hollywood broke a record for the lowest number of tickets sold, and analysts believe this was due to the amount of low quality films being made. Almost every movie shared weak plots, exploitation of 3D, and outright unoriginal ideas. Moviegoers and industry insiders called for an original film to break the cycle. Luckily however, French director Quentin Dupieux was already finishing production on his latest film Rubber by the end of 2009.  The film was shown at Cannes Critic’s Week and was picked up by Magnet Releases for US distribution despite receiving almost completely negative reviews.
